Chyna Brackeen is a professionally trained opera singer who chose to spend her career behind the scenes rather than on the stage. For more than fifteen years, she has focused her efforts on the development of high-profile events, festivals, artists and brands in the lifestyle and entertainment sector. Chyna has managed budgets totaling over $3 million, won 33 ADDY Awards, including a prestigious Best in Show Gold Award, has been recognized as the Outstanding Marketer of the Year by OperAmerica, and was chosen as one of the“40 Under 40” young professionals by the Knoxville News Sentinel.
In 2009, she founded Attack Monkey Productions, a full-service entertainment company offering event production, talent buying, artist management, marketing and public relations. Attack Monkey projects include the Dogwood Arts Rhythm n’ Blooms Festival, Ole Smoky Moonshine, Secret City Festival, International Biscuit Festival, Scruffy City Ramble, Worship in the City, The Square Room, concerts and special events at venues throughout the Southeast in addition to providing artist management and public relations services to a number of internationally touring musicians.
Prior to founding Attack Monkey Productions, Ms. Brackeen served as the Director of Marketing & Promotions for AC Entertainment. In that capacity, she directed the development and execution of all marketing, public relations, communication, graphic design and promotional efforts for brands including (but not limited to) the Historic Tennessee Theatre, Bonnaroo Music + Arts Festival, Bijou Theatre, Tennessee Shines, ConcertWire.com, Sundown in the City, and Vegoose Music Festival. As a member of senior management, she directed a team consisting of eight people in an agency-like setting, overseeing promotional efforts for multiple artists, tours, properties, and festivals throughout the country and personally handling an average of 75 major accounts at any given time. Chyna worked with national artists such as Alison Krauss, Dave Matthews, The Smashing Pumpkins, Bill Cosby, Bob Dylan, and Tony Bennett as well as emerging acts across all genres.
