MUSIC Matters

Nashville, TN

As a recent University of Michigan graduate and new Nashville resident, Sabrina is looking to continue her engagement with the music industry. During her time at the University of Michigan, Sabrina was the co-president of MUSIC Matters, a non profit that organized an annual SXSW style festival and benefit concert, the proceeds of which were used to incubate and implement a student-design social venture. In 2016-2017 school year, Sabrina worked to partner with Universal Music Group in a half-million dollar operation to produce the festival and concert, which featured 2 Chainz, Lil Yachty & Desiigner. As Co-President, Sabrina's roles and responsibilities included the following:

-Was lead in executing first Concert in Crisler Center in over 16 years: coordinated, negotiated and booked talent with Agents, worked alongside Universal Music Group Executives, coordinated and managed show logistics with Production Companies, Sponsors, University Athletics, University Officials, Box Office, etc.
-Previously served as SpringFest Chair: Developed and created the largest student social impact festival in the nation, SpringFest. Includes ideation of festival programming & coordination with students, corporations, production company, police, Ann Arbor government, and University officials to execute logistics of festival. Over 10,000 attendees to annual festival.

Sabrina is both strategic, and detail oriented. Her biggest interest lies in the design, coordination and execution of live events-- she's eager to learn more and gain valuable hands on experience!

I joined Music Biz Besties because I’m really looking forward to getting plugged into the music industry in any way that I can — whether it be learning from people working in the business, or volunteering time at events, or working odd jobs to get exposure and experience. I was recommended to Music Biz Besties, and heard wonderful things about the platform and community and thought it would be the perfect network to plug into!
