As the Income Tracking Specialist, you will monitor, track and reconcile recorded music earnings, including distributor receipts and residual master use license earnings. Identify and collect on unreported and underreported income streams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead in the discovery and recovery of unpaid and underpaid master royalties worldwide.

  • Collaborate with Licensing department to update quarterly “Sampling Tracking Report” and calculate estimates of amounts due based on SoundScan figures.

  • Review all master royalty payments to ensure they are calculated accurately and paid timely pursuant to deal terms; Monitor and ensure that subsequent payments are made after recoupment of initial advances.

  • Ongoing source auditing to ensure veracity of reportings (e.g. rates, units paid and usage types).

  • Communicate with third party sources to redirect income, ensure correct account information and collect on any discovered errors in reporting.

  • Prepare detailed comparison reports on collection recovery, sales data & royalty source accuracy.

  • Gather information and report on specific income and general industry trends.

  • Lead or assist in departmental research and ad-hoc analysis projects.

Requirements:

  • Outstanding verbal, written communication and organization skills are required

  • Excellent computer skills and high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular), with the ability to quickly learn data management programs

  • 2+ years of related royalties or financial experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Extremely detail-oriented and highly organized, with an ability to manage large workloads,  prioritize demands under the pressure of deadlines and show discretion with confidential materials.

  • Solid math skills and the tendency to think in an analytical fashion

  • Self-starter work initiative and an ability to work independently and with a team

  • Experience in the music business
