Job Description

The Marketing & Partnerships Associate is responsible for coordinating and growing NYPR’s collaborations with media and marketing partners, administering everything from scheduling, selection and representation, to handling contracts, deciding on tactical executions, and coordinating details of talent appearances. This position will also provide administrative and strategic support to the marketing and audience development teams.

This person will manage the implementation and management of WNYC media partner activations in addition to supporting overall marketing initiatives for New York Public Radio brands, including WNYC, WQXR, Gothamist, and The Greene Space.


  • Identify, develop, and maintain new media and marketing partnerships.

  • Work with stakeholders station-wide, including talent, to coordinate media partnership events and trades, and deliver on contractual obligations.

  • Manage partner and event activations including outreach, scheduling, creative requests, and reporting.

  • Develop an evaluation matrix for future media partnerships.

  • Provide monthly status updates on existing, new, and potential partnerships.

  • Work with legal to ensure compliance with IRS and FCC requirements and regulations.

  • Curate, deliver, and manage weekly LINK-NYC event listings for all five boroughs.

  • Keep detailed records of media partnerships and media partnership events to report to sponsorship and sales.

  • Work with legal to execute yearly CPB report on WNYC’s diverse community activities.

  • Manage media partner events social media presence.

  • Manage partner events page on the WNYC website.

  • Build and manage plans and budgets for projects ranging from quick-turnaround interactives to large-scale, multi-year projects.

  • Monitor and manage related marketing projects from day-to-day, week-to-week, phase-to-phase, and project-to-project.

  • Innovate. Challenge business-as-usual with new ideas, practices, and perspectives.


  • 2-4 years of project and relationship management experience

  • A self-starter who is able to pitch and manage relationships on behalf of WNYC

  • Knowledgeable about organizations and major events in the greater New York community and beyond

  • Strong knowledge of project and partner management techniques

  • Excellent verbal, written, planning, and presentation skills

  • Adept at managing social media content strategy for a brand

Additional Marketing Skills:

The following skills are welcome in a candidate, but not required.

  • A working knowledge of Mailchimp newsletter platform

  • A working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and basic photo/video editing

  • A working knowledge of SEO/SEM and Google AdWords

  • A working knowledge of Google Analytics

  • A working knowledge of the podcast industry
