The electroplating operation is a critical step in the company’s manufacturing processes. We are looking for an experienced leader to help us develop and design a world class electroplating facility as we simultaneously transition from our current manufacturing location. The selected individual will have demonstrated skills to be a champion/leader in the implementation of lean manufacturing principles, as well as technically competent in the skills required to lead a tight-tolerance electroplating operation. The position will report directly to the company Chief Operating Officer.
Essential Job Duties:
Identify and lead projects to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Analyze scrap and improve production plating process to increase efficiency.
Develop appropriate formulations through hands-on experiments to meet or exceed customer plating specifications.
Supervise and train technicians/operators on the plating process.
Process engineering development for electroplating metals on various products.
Work with suppliers to obtain specifications on new equipment, materials, and/or products as needed to fulfill customer requirements.
Articulate process and material issues/opportunities with management staff. Recommend solutions and implement improvements.
Develops new or improved processes as necessary maintaining appropriate environmental regulation and hazardous waste handling awareness.
Maintain compliance with local, state and federal regulations regarding environmental, hazardous waste, and industrial waste disposal.
Required Education and Work Experience
BSChE or Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years in a supervisory role in an electro-plating environment.
Experience with lean manufacturing and change management preferred.
Knowledge of setting up a plating operation would be desirable.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated success handling multiple priorities in changing environments.
Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot and successfully resolve problems.
Excellent computer and interpersonal skills.
Excellent work record, including safety, quality and attendance.
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude preferred.
