We are seeking a Vice President of Marketing for ourPodcasting business; focused on supporting creative storytelling talent, developing engaging content, and driving new business opportunities.
As the Vice President of Marketing for Sony Music, you will oversee the planning, development, pitching and execution of innovative marketing strategies to launch, brand and develop podcasts throughout the product lifecycle. This role will be part Sony Music’s podcast team in New York.

Contribute heavily to the creation, development, and execution of marketing strategies, branding design, ad campaigns, and public relations’ events for assigned projects.
Participate in near and long term creative planning to ensure a clear and consistent message for assigned projects while acting as a central point of contact and lead for all assigned projects. Work with all departments in meeting deadlines and keeping a creative thread running throughout the projects.
Develop and execute creative imaging for marketing campaigns in conjunction with the Podcast producing team. Select and approve visual imagery and creative direction of marketing tools while also overseeing the timely production of commercial and promotional product, including advertising materials, and posters.
Conceptualize creative concepts on all digital marketing initiatives including the development of mobile and digital marketing concepts, podcast website design and maintenance, and the design, implementation and maintenance of social media presence.
Liaise with creative podcast team on a regular basis and communicate marketing plans and expectations.
Create/negotiate and manage marketing budgets for each assigned project.
Research and evaluate customer needs, industry landscape, and market/cultural trends.
Identify and analyze new and innovative exposure and revenue generating opportunities for assigned podcasts.
Create and adapt strategies to align with the rapidly evolving marketplace.
Help with the planning and execution of podcast showcase events for tastemakers and industry personnel.
At least 5 to 10 years of progressive marketing experience in the media/entertainment industry.
Must have prior experience with creative ideation and execution of marketing plans focusing on launching new podcasts and ongoing audience building.
Must be experienced and skilled performing in a liaison role between creative podcast talent and the Sony Music support services using tact, persuasion, timing and facilitating direct communication when appropriate and retaining the trust of both Sony Music and the podcast creative team.
Must have prior experience creating and managing budgets.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
Must be adept in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook to create multiple artist schedules and budgets.
Must have a passionate commitment to music, podcasts and the creative community.
Undergraduate degree required.
